Golden 1 Center opened in 2016 and was built as a statement about how an arena can work: five aircraft-hangar doors on the western face open the whole building to the street, it runs entirely on solar power, and it anchors the Downtown Commons development in the middle of Sacramento. It is one of the smaller and steeper bowls in the league.

The building is compact and the rake is aggressive, so the distance from the last row to the floor is short by NBA standards. Lower level sidelines are the reference view; the club ring flattens the angle; upper corners are the best value in the building. The open west face means the atmosphere and light change with the time of day, which is unique in the league. Note that this is the one arena in the catalogue where panoramic coverage is still being completed — sections without a 3D view appear dimmed on the map.
