Barclays Center opened in 2012 over the Atlantic Avenue transit hub, wrapped in pre-weathered steel panels that were designed to rust into their final colour, with an oculus and a canopy over the main entrance. It is the newest of New York's two NBA buildings and the more compact: a bowl of roughly 17,700 for basketball, which makes even the upper level feel closer to the floor than its capacity suggests.
The bowl is asymmetric — one sideline carries more premium seating than the other, so the two sides of the same level do not see the same game. The lower bowl along the sidelines is the reference view; behind the baskets you sit closer to the action but read the far half of the court at an angle. The upper level is a genuinely good deal here because the building is small, and the corners of that level see both baskets without paying for a sideline. Check the exact section before you commit: the difference between two seats in the same price band can be a whole tier of view.
