Little Caesars Arena opened in 2017 and brought the Pistons back to downtown Detroit after nearly forty years in the suburbs. Its design is unusual: the seating bowl is sunk below street level and wrapped in a glass-roofed concourse — the Via — so the building reads as an indoor street with an arena in the middle. Pistons and Red Wings share it.

Because the bowl is dug in and the concourse wraps it, the entry level is partway up rather than at the top, and the gondola seating hangs above the sidelines. The lower bowl sidelines are the reference view and sit close to the floor; the gondolas are the most distinctive seats in the building, high but directly over the play. The upper bowl is steep and compact. The corners at every level are the value pick, and the difference between a sideline and a corner section here is smaller than the price gap suggests.
