Little Caesars Arena opened in 2017 as the Red Wings' first new home since 1979, replacing Joe Louis Arena a few blocks away, and it is shared with the Pistons. Its signature is the deck: the seating bowl is sunk below street level and wrapped by a glass-roofed concourse called the Via, so you walk in above the ice and come down to your seat rather than climbing to it.
Because the bowl is dug in, the 100 level here feels lower and closer than the number suggests, and the sightlines from the boards are excellent all the way to the corners. The gondola and club levels sit between the two bowls and give the flattest angle. The upper bowl is steep and, for hockey, genuinely good: the sheet is long, and height is what lets you see a stretch pass leave the defensive zone.
