Bridgestone Arena opened in 1996 as the Nashville Arena, spent years as the Gaylord Entertainment Center and then Sommet Center, and took its current name in 2010. It sits directly on Lower Broadway, which makes it the only NHL arena whose front door opens onto a street of honky-tonks — a large part of why a game here does not feel like a game anywhere else in the league.
