American Airlines Center opened in 2001 in Victory Park, north of downtown Dallas, with a red-brick and granite exterior and arched windows that were meant to look nothing like a 1990s arena. The Stars and the Mavericks share it, and the hockey configuration seats about 18,500 — some 700 fewer than basketball. The Stars play a home game away from here in 2026-27, at the Stadium Series on 20 February at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

A well-proportioned two-tier bowl with a club ring between them. The 100 level along the boards is the reference view; the 100 corners see both goals and are the value buy. The platinum and club levels sit low and flat and are the most comfortable seats in the building. The 300 level is steep, and its centre-ice rows are the cheapest place in the arena from which you can watch a whole shift develop rather than following the puck. Behind the goals the low rows are loud and lose the far end, which in a long-sheet sport costs you more than it would in basketball.
