TD Garden opened in 1995 next to the old Boston Garden it replaced, and spent its first years as the FleetCenter — a name half the city still uses for directions. It sits on top of North Station, which makes it the easiest arena in the league to reach by train, and its ceiling carries the heaviest set of championship banners in basketball. The building was renovated through the 2010s: new concourses, new clubs and a rebuilt upper bowl entrance.
