Kia Center opened in 2010 as Amway Center — the name most search results still carry — and was among the first of the modern generation of NBA arenas: a tall, glass-cornered building with a single enormous scoreboard, a 180-foot window over the plaza and a lower bowl designed to hold a bigger share of the crowd than usual.
The design decision that matters is that the seating is weighted towards the lower bowl, so the upper level is smaller and steeper than in an arena of the same capacity. Lower level sidelines are the reference view; lower corners are the value pick at that height. The upper bowl is high and compact, and because it is small its front rows are unusually good.
