Memorial Stadium at Clemson is the other Death Valley, and it has carried the name since the 1940s. It was cut into a hillside in 1942 and expanded outwards and upwards ever since, with the upper deck on the west added in 1983. Frank Howard Field is the playing surface; Howard's Rock sits on a pedestal at the top of the east hill.

The team touches the rock and runs down the hill into the east end zone, and the sequence is loud enough that it has its own name. Clemson is a small town in upstate South Carolina and a home game is the only thing happening for thirty miles. The bowl is closed and the noise stays inside.

The lower bowl runs all the way round and its west sideline rows are the closest good seats. The west upper deck is the tall structure and its front rows read the whole field best. The east side is single-tier and lower, which is where the hill and the entrance are. End zone seats are cheap and see straight down the field; the south end has the newest premium areas. Corners are the value pick and here they also give you the run down the hill in your eyeline.
