Hemingway Stadium opened in 1915, named for a law professor who chaired the athletics committee, and took Johnny Vaught's name alongside his in 1982; the pitch became Hollingsworth Field in 1998. The south end was bowled in at the start of the 2000s and the north end closed in 2016, which completed the ring and brought natural grass back for the first time in fourteen years. It is the largest stadium in Mississippi.
The Grove is the point. The Walk of Champions has run on a fixed route since 1985 — from the Student Union, straight through The Grove, to the ground, about two hours before kick-off, with supporters shaking hands with the players as they pass — and it goes under an arch given by the 1962 team, the only unbeaten side in the programme's history. The tailgating in The Grove starts long before that and does not really stop.
Ole Miss publishes 64,038 since the north end was closed in 2016.
A closed bowl with four distinct ends. The east is the side with the upper deck and its covered club; the west is the older side, a lower bowl with the media tower above it and some seats tucked underneath. The south is the rounded end from the early 2000s, with suites and a covered club; the north is the single-level 2016 end and holds the student section. The bowl lies north-east to south-west, so the south end and then the west side pick up shade first while the east side and the north end stay in the sun — the student end is in it all day, which in September in Mississippi is a real consideration.
