Larry Blakeney Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium — The Vet — opened on 16 September 1950 with five thousand seats and a construction bill of sixty-five thousand dollars, dedicated to the county's war dead. It carried a company name only once, as Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium between 2003 and 2010, and the arrangement ended when the company did. The eighteen-million-dollar job of 2003 removed the running track and added more than twelve thousand seats, turning it into a football-only ground.

The Trojan Walk starts at the corner of University Avenue and George Wallace Drive — a quarter to four for an afternoon kick-off — and goes through the brick portal into Tailgate Terrace and in at Gate 1. Beer is sold at four points inside and stops at the end of the third quarter. South Alabama in September is hot and humid, and there is very little shelter.

A horseshoe. The main level sits at ground level on both sidelines with an upper deck above each; the home upper deck has backed seats between the twenty-fives and everything else is aluminium bench. The press box runs to six storeys with twenty-seven sky boxes and a stadium club for more than a thousand people. The north end was closed in 2018 by a twenty-four-million-dollar facility carrying the terrace and the big video board, and four hundred and two club seats went in there the year before. Students sit behind the visiting bench. One detail worth checking in 3D before you buy: there is a slight overhang on the home side, and the seats under it lose sight of the main scoreboard entirely.
