Commonwealth Stadium opened in 1973, replacing Stoll Field in the middle of the campus, and Kentucky became the first school in the conference to sell its football stadium's name when it turned into Kroger Field in 2017 — so the old name is still what a lot of people search for. The pitch is C. M. Newton Grounds. Both ends were closed in 1999, and the reconstruction in the middle of the 2010s traded raw capacity for comfort and premium space.
The Cat Walk starts two and a quarter hours before kick-off outside the first gate, with the squad walking a corridor of supporters the length of the ground, and there is a countdown show in the park beside it. The façade is local Kentucky limestone, added when the building was reskinned. For 2026 the practical things to know are that the concessions and the shop are cashless and that tickets and parking are digital only.
A fully closed two-level bowl since 1999. The south side is the modern, premium sideline — the press box, the top-level suites and the clubs in the middle of the lower bowl; the north side is the conventional grandstand and the visiting bench. The students take general admission in the lower bowl at the east end. The building lies north-west to south-east, and the press box and suites shade the south side in an afternoon game while the north side stays in the sun for most of it and both ends stay sunny until late. There is no roof.
