Beaver Stadium is the second-largest stadium in the country and the most rebuilt: the structure that stood on the old New Beaver Field site was cut apart, moved across campus and reassembled in 1960, then raised and extended so many times that the modern bowl is essentially four different eras of steel bolted together. That history is why the seating geometry changes so noticeably from one side to another.

It sits on its own in the middle of Pennsylvania farmland with no city around it, so a home game turns the whole valley into a car park from dawn. Night games here are the reason the White Out exists — a hundred thousand people in white, in the dark, with the temperature dropping. If your ticket is for a November evening, bring more clothing than you think you need: the wind comes across the open ends.

The lower bowl is the original structure and its sideline rows sit close and low; the upper decks were added later and are steeper, taller and further back than the seating plan suggests. The south end holds the student section and is standing-room in practice. The corners of the upper deck are the sleeper seats — high enough to read both sides of the field, cheap because they are not on a sideline. The very top rows of the end zones are a long way from the action and the 3D view is the fastest way to see exactly how far.
