Colorado Stadium when it opened in 1924, renamed in 1944 for Fred Folsom, the coach who had died that year. At five thousand three hundred and sixty feet it is the third-highest ground in top-division football, and it is still a horseshoe: the north end was never closed with seating, and since the middle of the 2010s that end has been the six-storey Champions Center instead. The lower bowl is the 1924 layout, which is why the stands sit so tight to the touchlines.

Ralphie — a bison, and female, despite the name — is run in a loop around the pitch by a team of student handlers before kick-off and again out of the break, entering at one end and leaving into her trailer behind the north end. Ralphie VII took over in September 2025. New for 2026 is a free street party on Colorado Avenue by the south end, opening three hours before kick-off. The pitch has been artificial since June 2025. The Flatirons stand behind the west side and are the reason the east stands have the better view.

The upper deck dates from 1956 and wraps about two thirds of the ground. The west side carries a six-level press tower and a club; the east side got club seats and suites in 2003 and holds the student section; the north end and north-east corner were converted to loge boxes and club seating in the middle of the 2010s. Almost all general seating is metal bench — backrests can be hired at the gate for a few dollars, and on a cold day that is money well spent. There is no roof or canopy anywhere. At a half-one kick-off there is essentially no shade in the building; by mid-afternoon the west side is shaded and the east is in the sun, and for a morning kick-off it is the other way round.
