Opened in 1927 as Erlanger's Theatre by the producer who lost the theatre wars to the Shuberts, and renamed the St. James in 1932. Oklahoma!, The King and I and Hello, Dolly! all opened on this stage, which is a fair claim to being the most consequential musical house on the street. It was a Jujamcyn theatre and has been run by ATG Entertainment since 2023.
