One of the three oldest Broadway theatres still in use, opened in 1903, and the one with the strangest history — it spent decades as a radio studio, a television studio, a cinema, a nightclub and finally a hotel ballroom before ATG restored it and reopened it as a Broadway house in 2017. The Tiffany-glass lobby is original. The Beatles played their first American television appearance from this stage.
The Tony Awards Administration Committee ruled in 2016 that the restored house seats 970 without the orchestra pit in use and 948 with it, so there are two correct answers depending on the production. ATG Entertainment publishes no seat count. The 1,076 of the original 1903 auditorium does not describe the room today.
