The oldest continuously operating legitimate theatre in New York, opened in 1903 and never converted to anything else — no cinema years, no radio studio, no nightclub. Its Beaux-Arts facade and the producer's apartment above the auditorium are both landmarked, and the Shubert Organization has owned it since 1950.
