Allegiant Stadium cost one and nine tenths of a billion dollars, opened on 31 July 2020 and belongs to the Raiders; UNLV is the college tenant. It has a fixed translucent roof and is fully air-conditioned. UNLV's first game in it, on 31 October 2020, was played in front of about two thousand people because of the pandemic. Before this the Rebels played at Sam Boyd Stadium, eight miles away, until November 2019 — a different building, still standing, and the source of most of the wrong numbers you will see attached to this one.

Sun, shade and wind are not part of the conversation here, and that is precisely the selling point: Las Vegas is still above thirty-five degrees well into the autumn and the inside of this building is not. The Fremont Cannon, the heaviest and most expensive trophy in college football, is played for against Nevada. There is a concert series before every home game and a pregame party in one of the car parks, and there is no re-entry once you are inside.

Three levels — a lower bowl, a middle level with the clubs, and an upper deck — plus a hundred and twenty-seven suites and eight thousand club seats, and an eleven-thousand-square-foot video board in each end. The thing to understand is that UNLV does not sell the whole building: the sixty-five thousand is the full NFL configuration, and a Rebels crowd works out of the lower bowl and the club level with the top tier opened only when demand justifies it. The record crowd is 42,228. New for 2026 are a standing field-level club in the north end and a rotating student setup in the south, retractable seating over the field for three games and field-level bleachers for the other three. The surface is artificial for UNLV; the Raiders' natural grass tray slides out of the building.
