The southernmost Broadway theatre, and the only one below 42nd Street. It opened in 1921 as the National, was the Billy Rose through the 1960s and 1970s, and took the Nederlander name in 1980 for David T. Nederlander. Its deliberately unrestored, weathered interior was left that way for Rent in 1996 and has been part of the room's identity since.
