Theatre Masque

Opened in 1927 as the Theatre Masque, a small Spanish-styled house designed as one of a group of three, and renamed in 1937 for the producer John Golden. At 802 seats it is one of the smallest theatres on Broadway and one of the most consistently used for plays and small musicals, and the Shubert Organization has run it since 1930.

465 seats in the orchestra, then a mezzanine split 110 front and 227 rear — a front mezzanine of barely a hundred and ten seats, the smallest premium tier in the district. No balcony and no boxes. The room is short and the overhang is shallow, so the whole orchestra keeps the full stage.

What’s on at the John Golden

Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical plays at the John Golden Theatre, as of 30 July 2026. Broadway bookings change constantly, so this page does not publish a performance calendar it cannot keep honest — it gives you the room. The seating map above is the theatre itself, so it holds good whatever is on the stage.
