Doyt L. Perry Stadium opened on 1 October 1966 with a 13-0 win over Dayton, replacing a Works Progress Administration ground in the middle of campus that had lasted forty-three seasons, and it is named for the coach who went 77-11-5 between 1955 and 1964. Its capacity chart runs the wrong way: 23,272 at the start, 33,527 from 1982 when bleachers went into both ends, and twenty-four thousand since 2007 when those bleachers came back out. The 33,527 survives as the attendance record, set against Toledo on 8 October 1983 and still a school and conference record.

The ROTC cannon fires after every score and at the end of every quarter, a recorded falcon screech goes out after every first down, and the band spells B-G-S-U. The Peace Pipe Trophy has been played for against Toledo since 1980. Three things change for 2026: a new video board at the south end, about thirty-one feet by thirty-nine; the Falcon Marching Band moves to the north-western corner so its sound carries across towards the home side; and a clear-bag policy applies to football for the first time, with the old tailgate replaced by a new fan fest. There is a Tuesday night home game against Kent State in November.

The pitch runs north to south with BOTH ENDS OPEN, so there is nothing to stop the wind along that axis, and this is a very exposed ground. Two curved single-tier stands on the east and west, with — a useful quirk — even-numbered sections on the east side and odd-numbered ones on the west. Mostly metal bleacher, with a band of backed seats a few rows up along the whole east side and in part of the west. The Sebo Athletic Center closes the north end and has a stadium club on its first floor looking onto the field; booster suites and the main board are at the south. The press box on the west holds a small theatre-style club. The concourse behind the stands is unusually wide, and the original design left structural provision for an upper deck on both sidelines that was never built.
