Tottenham Hotspur Stadium opened in April 2019 on and around the footprint of White Hart Lane, and at 62,850 it is the largest club ground in London. It has a retractable pitch with an artificial NFL surface underneath, a microbrewery inside the building, and a single-tier South Stand of about 17,500 seats — the biggest single tier of any ground in the country, built deliberately to concentrate the noise behind one goal.
The South Stand is the whole point of the design: one continuous rake, very steep, and the reason the ground has the reputation it has. The two side stands are the multi-tier ones, with the premium levels sandwiched between them; the North Stand takes the away support. The brief for the whole building was to pull the front row as close to the touchline as regulations allow, so proximity is the default here rather than the premium — what varies is angle and elevation.
