Silverstone hosted the first World Championship race in 1950 and remains the fastest full-length permanent circuit in Europe: Copse taken near flat, the Maggotts–Becketts–Chapel sequence that drivers rate as the finest set of corners in the world, then Stowe, Vale and Club onto the Hangar Straight.

Silverstone's capacity is enormous — around 164,000 — and the stands are spread across a big, flat former airfield, so sightlines depend heavily on which structure you pick. Becketts is the connoisseur's grandstand: you watch cars change direction four times without lifting. Stowe is the classic overtaking stand. Club and the Wellington/International straights cover the start, the pit stops and the podium.
