Baku combines the longest flat-out run on the calendar — more than two kilometres along the seafront at over 350 km/h — with the narrowest corner in Formula 1, the 7.6-metre-wide Turn 8 squeeze past the walls of the medieval old city. In 2026 the race runs on Saturday.

The circuit's split personality carries over to the seating. The seafront main-straight stands give you enormous speed, the start, the pit stops and the biggest overtaking moves of the race. The old-city section around Turns 8–12 is slow, tight and visually spectacular, with cars a couple of metres from ancient stone. Fenced street sections mean sightlines vary a lot between stands.
