At 2,240 metres above sea level, the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez is the highest circuit in Formula 1 — thin air means less downforce, less drag and cooling problems for everyone. Since 2015 the lap has run through the old Foro Sol baseball stadium, where the grandstands wrap right around the track.

The stadium section is the single most famous piece of spectator architecture in Formula 1: a fully enclosed bowl, deafening, and the site of the podium celebrations. Elsewhere, the enormously long main straight into the Turn 1–3 complex produces the heaviest braking and the best overtaking of the weekend.
