Hermann Tilke's Shanghai International Circuit is built on marshland and shaped, famously, like the character 上. Its signature is the opening Turn 1–2–3 spiral that tightens for almost 270 degrees, and the enormous 1.2 km back straight into the heavy Turn 14 braking zone. It is also a Sprint weekend in 2026, so there are two racing days.

This is one of the most grandstand-generous circuits in F1, with a claimed capacity around 200,000 and a main stand that arcs over the pits. The Turn 1–3 stands are the best value on the calendar for wheel-to-wheel action — you watch cars enter fast and emerge slow, all in one field of view. Stands at the end of the back straight give you the biggest speed differential and the most overtakes.
